Junior Introductory Programs

This two-part program introduces the junior (Ages 6-14) to the basics of golf and playing the game in a fun atmosphere. Each program is 5 weeks in duration, one 1 hour lesson per week, taught by PGA/LPGA Professional's with a Maximum ratio of 10:1.

Introduction to Golf I (Beginner) introduces the Junior Golfer to the basics of Golf in a fun clinic atmosphere. All aspects of the game (putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play and the long swing with irons and metals) will be covered during the 5-week program. A major emphasis will be placed on proper mechanics of grip, stance, posture and alignment to the target. The junior will be exposed to proper golf course etiquette procedures and basic rules in preparation to play the game. Each junior will receive a "These Kids are Good" tee shirt and Stow Acres hat.

Introduction to Golf II (Novice) is designed to teach the junior "How to Play the Game." Grip, stance, posture and alignment to the target will be revisited to ensure that proper mechanics are employed. The major emphasis of each lesson will be teaching the junior "How to Play the Game" in simulated course situations. A continued exposure to proper etiquette and basic rules will also be part of each lesson. PGA/LPGA professionals will teach this 5-lesson series. A tournament and awards ceremony with a barbeque after the tournament is included for all participants. Each junior will receive a "These Kids are Good" tee shirt and Stow Acres hat.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Golf I

All participating juniors will become Junior Members. Membership entitles them to play golf for $10.00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 5:30 pm throughout the year. Accompanying adults will play for $22.00. Junior Members may also purchase a small bucket of balls at the Driving Range for $1.00 (limit 2 per day). Junior Members must present their bag tag to the Golf Shop and Driving Range to receive benefits.

All registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Incomplete registration forms will not be accepted. Email confirmations and bag tags, via the postal service, will be sent out within one week of receiving a complete registration application. Group requests and special pairings must be made at the time of registration.
