Custom Club Fitting

Poor fitting equipment forces the player to make swing adjustments in order to hit the ball consistently straight. Our trained PGA Professionals work with you to determine the lie angle, shaft flex, shaft kick point, grip size, and shaft length that will best fit your physique and swing characteristics. We will fit equipment that enables you to swing in balance avoiding unnecessary manipulation to get the ball on-line to the target. A lie angle that is off by 2 degrees will produce a shot that is off by 20 yards with a 5 iron. For longer shots the deviation from the target is even greater.

There are two common misconceptions regarding custom club fitting. First, many players assume that custom fitted clubs are expensive. They are not, in fact, at Stow Acres they are the same price as "off the shelf" clubs and the fitting is free with your set purchase! Second, some fitters would have you believe that you can be properly fit by hitting balls into a net or by simply measuring your arm length, etc. The facts are that accurate fitting must be done outdoors where ball flight can be observed, and it must be done dynamically - the only way to truly measure lie angle.
